ECommerce for Moodle, Totara, Kallidus & Brightspace: When the Purchaser is not the Learner

ECommerce for Moodle, Totara, Kallidus & Brightspace: When the Purchaser is not the Learner

Im going to show you how a user buys a single seat for somebody else and then allocates it to them using the Licence Management area. The user selects a product. Remember that were buying a single seat and allocating that seat to somebody else. So were going to leave the quantity at one and then click Buy Now. The shopping cart displays the product, with tax added if applicable. We wont put a voucher code in for this demonstration, well just go straight through to checkout. If the customer is a new user, they enter their credentials and click create account … And Course Merchant has now created an account for them straight into the LMS. The important thing here is checking the box Are you buying this course on behalf of someone else?. We then agree to the terms and conditions and proceed. This is the exit screen this user will see after checkout is complete. Instead of a link to access her training, she is given a link that takes her to the license management area. Lets click on that … And here we see a table of her product purchase. In this case she bought a single seat on this course. She is now going to allocate that seat to a learner by enrolling them directly into the LMS. She clicks ‘add a student’ … She enters their name and email address and clicks Enroll. The remaining licenses for this purchase are now zero. She has bought one seat and allocated one seat. The learner receives an enrolment email with their login credentials to the LMS. They can start studying right away. Thats it for this quick overview of managing single-seat licences in Course Merchant.
